The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at The City College is now 40+ years old. What began as a great experiment to address the need for greater diversity in the medical profession and to meet the acute primary care health needs in underserved areas has, in a way, come full circle as health care reform in the whole country is trying to address the very things that the school has tried to do since its beginnings.
Here, we have tried to document the unique history of the Sophie Davis School through the creation of a video history. Video interviews for this oral history were conducted with relevant persons from throughout the school's history; perhaps most importantly through interviews of alumni.
